Tazkira (Taz) Amin

Tazkira Amin (Taz-KEY-rah), or Taz, is a dual Master of Social Work/Master of Urban and Regional Planning student at the University of Michigan. She is deeply interested in community engagement, research, and collaborating with diverse communities. Her experience spans local government, the financial sector, and numerous nonprofit organizations with a wide range of missions. Her research background includes media framing of student involvement in the Civil Rights Movement, program implementation in K–12 schools, and community-based participatory research focused on developing specialized resources for students with refugee status. She hopes to continue building a toolkit to serve those most in need.
